ABOUT US
We were founded on April 20, 2020. Like, actually. I didn't realize that coincidence before but I found it funny.
Amidst the chaos of 2020, I (Jersie) ganged up with some lads, Freedom and VaskoKasko, and formed Freedom Scans. The intention of our group was to purely do whatever we wanted. A lot of groups have a focus, whether it be a particular genre, author, etc. Which is great, but I personally didn't want to be limited by anything. Our first project which inspired me to make the group was Ghost Writer. I found it randomly on MyAnimeList, and seeing as it had a very low member count and hardly any information on it, it intrigued me. Obscure series especially I like to do, regardless of the quality. Whereas Freedom and Vasko actually choose good series (lol.)
(Feb 2022) However, as many groups experience, people have lives to live. Our output wasn't as much as I hoped, so I decided to change the server/group to just my own personal scanlations. But the server we developed over two years was still a nice place to just hang out and chat with friends, so I didn't want to nuke it. Thus I just continue to uphold the magic of Freedom Scans, just solo. Scanlating the most random obscure stuff for fun. Feel free to join our little weird club, you're always welcome. :)
